Thomas Ambalavanar, Esq.

Thomas Ambalavanar is an associate attorney at Ganguly Brothers Misula PLLC, where he focuses his practice on civil litigation in Rochester, New York. He represents individuals and businesses in a wide range of matters, including financial disputes, municipal and zoning issues, Article 78 proceedings, and administrative hearings.

Mr. Ambalavanar contributes to the representation of clients in complex and high-stakes matters, including disputes involving high-net-worth individuals and matters with overlapping civil and criminal exposure, including white collar criminal issues. His approach to litigation emphasizes careful preparation, strategic analysis, and clear, effective advocacy tailored to each client’s objectives.

A Rochester native, Mr. Ambalavanar earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from SUNY Geneseo in 2020 and his Juris Doctor from the University at Buffalo School of Law in 2023. While in law school, he participated in the Environmental Law Clinic and UB’s Moot Court Competition, and served as an intellectual property research assistant with the SUNY Buffalo Office of Technology Transfer.

Mr. Ambalavanar began his legal career as a criminal defense attorney with the Monroe County Public Defender’s Office, where he developed a strong foundation in courtroom advocacy and client representation. He also gained experience in municipal civil litigation through his work with the Monroe County Law Department prior to joining the firm.
